NORTHIAM HONEY

"Joy from the Hive" was formed to bring our Pure Honey, 100% Natural Beeswax Candles and Pure Furniture Polish to a wider audience.

Based in Northiam, Beekeeper Jeremy Carr has a couple of small rural apiaries in East Sussex and Kent.

Our aim is to not to over-intrude into the beehive. This encourages the natural behaviour of the honeybees. 

My name is Francesca. During the quiet down time many of us experienced in  2020, a 'side project' was developed by myself.  The expertise and practical knowledge of my partner Jeremy has been an crucial part of the process. 

Our aim is to not waste any goodness from the beehive. Consquently, we started to make 100% Pure Beeswax Candles and Traditional Beeswax Polishes & Treatments.

We aim to be sustainable and environmentally friendly, as possible. We let nature speak for itself. 

Jeremy's first priority is looking after his beehives and this keeps him extremely busy during the summer months.

BEES AND OUR CONNECTION TO NATURE

BEEKEEPER JEREMY CARR

Jeremy Carr is a gentle beekeeper and a modest man. When people say, "thank you for the lovely honey". He often replies "thank the bees!" Why would he say this? He's mindful, that Bees are some of the hardest working creatures on the planet. For us, it is all about the bees and the wonderful natural products they produce. Bees, Humans and the Earth are crucial to each other.

BEEKEEPING & OUR PACKAGING 

We always leave plenty of honey stores for our bees. Additionally, our beeswax is a natural by-product of the beehive. 

​All our parcel packaging is biodegradable. We use a brown infill paper called hive honeycomb wrap.

Occasionally, we  use cellulose green bubble wrap, as it gives greater protection to your products. The bubble wrap has the appearance of plastic, but it is strong, re-usable and 100% biodegradable.

On occasion, we will re-use cardboard boxes, if parcels are an odd shape. 

​When it comes to sustainability, we continue to learn and will adapt our methods.
